“The road well traveled is not just about the miles covered but the journeys that define us.”

Ken Ezelle’s career in logistics and business management is a testament to a journey of dedication, innovation, and leadership.

Born in Meridian, Mississippi, Ken started his professional path after graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Mississippi State University in 1985. GO BULLDOGS! His early successes were marked by significant roles at Roadway Express and Ryder Integrated Logistics, where he honed his expertise in both operational tactics and strategic foresight across various cities from Nashville, Tennessee, to Birmingham, Alabama.

In 2000, drawing on his nearly two decades of industry experience, Ken shifted gears to drive down his own road as owner of Universal Logistics Services and Universal Freight Systems based in Hoover, Alabama. Under his leadership, the company has not only flourished but has also redefined customer service standards in the logistics sector, embodying Ken’s belief in the power of personalized service and innovative solutions. Universal Logistics Services is proud to “Always Revolve Around You.”

Beyond his professional accomplishments and career awards, Ken is a family man at heart, which he considers his greatest success. Married to Stacey Martin Ezelle, together they have raised a family that shares their values of hard work and integrity. Their daughter, Ashley, a 2011 graduate with a BS in Biological Science, and their son, Alex, who followed his undergraduate degree in Accounting with a postgraduate degree in Sports Administration in 2016, both reflect the dedication and passion for learning that Ken has always emphasized.

Currently residing in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Ken finds joy and pride in the accomplishments of his family, believing that no professional success can outshine the personal joys of seeing his family thrive. His life’s work extends beyond the logistics landscapes into fostering an environment where the next generation can build upon the solid foundation he has laid.

Ken’s story is not just one of professional milestones but also of making a meaningful impact on the roads less traveled, both in business and in life.
